About
The purpose of this website is to connect individuals, groups and organisations who are involved in, or who are interested in cooperation, sustainability, low-impact habitats and eco-living. It was set up by a couple in Scotland, Christele & Paul, after discovering that nothing of the kind existed in the UK - despite the huge benefits and the growing need.
There are various resources with eco-living information, but what seems to be missing is the means and opportunity to connect lay-people like us with those with the skills and knowledge to help realise projects. Moreover, there isn’t just an expertise void, but also one of numbers. How many projects get shelved or fail because of a lack of manpower, funds or support?
Like you, we are lay-people. We can’t deliver your projects for you. However, what we can aim to do (and hopefully achieve) is to create a platform that can put people in touch with each other so that it could potentially:
- Help like-minded people and organisations make connections
- Help promote cooperation
- Help and support people realise their eco projects and goals
- Help people learn new skills (low-tech, low-impact, low-cost construction)
- Help projects organisers find volunteers
- Help volunteers find the right projects for them
- Help develop local networks (including those for communities, food and support)
- Help with the creation of local organisations and communities
- Help farmers transition to organic
- Help landowners connect with others to help restore/improve land
- Connect like-minded people looking to benefit from investing together in e.g., a project or a joint site purchase
- Potentially help people, groups or community find land
- Potentially help with eco-living-related legal issues and regulations
- Be a source for information, useful links, products and services
